Trip collaboration lets you invite travel companions or friends to plan a trip together. Everyone on the trip shares the same itinerary and can contribute stops.
The trip owner needs an RV Pro membership. Collaborators only need a free Campendium account to participate — they do not need a paid membership.
Trip collaboration is available on the Campendium website. Trip planning is not yet available in the mobile app.
Inviting Collaborators
- Open your trip in the trip planner
- Click the Invite button at the top of your itinerary
- In the Trip Collaborators modal, enter your the email address for the person you'd like to invite
- Click Add to send the invite
The person you invited will receives an email with a link to join the trip. Once they open the link and sign into their Campendium account (or create a free one), they'll have access to the trip.
Managing Collaborators
After inviting collaborators, you'll see profile photos or avatars in place of the Invite button. Click that to open the Trip Collaborators modal where you can see everyone who currently has access. To remove a collaborator, click Remove next to their name.
What Collaborators Can Do
Once they've joined, collaborators can:
- View the full itinerary and map
- View and add collaborator notes
- Add stops from the map, search results, or campground pages
- Remove stops from the itinerary
Sharing a Trip Without Collaborating
If you want to share your trip for others to view — without giving them edit access — use the Share icon (upload arrow) in the trip header instead. This opens options to copy a share link, share to Facebook, X, Pinterest, email, or embed the trip. Anyone with the link can view the itinerary but cannot make changes.
Trip Privacy
Trips are set to Private or Public in Trip settings → Trip details → Privacy:
- Private — Visible only to you and your invited collaborators
- Public — Visible to anyone you share the link with. Public trips cannot be edited by other users — they can view but not modify your itinerary.
