You can add arrival dates to your trip stops to give your itinerary a sense of shape and timing. Dates are optional — if you're using the trip planner purely to plan a route and don't want to track specific travel dates, you don't need to enter them.
This feature requires an RV Pro membership.
Trip planning is available on the Campendium website. Trip planning is not yet available in the mobile app, but you can open Campendium.com in a web browser on your phone to use trip planning features!
How Dates Work
Dates in Campendium reflect when you arrive at each stop. There's no departure date or duration field — the system currently tracks one date per stop.
Dates are all or nothing: if you add a date to any stop, all stops in the trip need a date. If you remove all dates, the trip returns to an undated route.
Adding Dates to Your Trip
From the itinerary panel: Click Add dates in the button grid at the top of the itinerary. You'll be prompted to set a start date and end date for your trip, and dates will be distributed across your stops from there. You can edit dates in the waypoint details or by dragging/dropping stops in the itinerary.
Per stop: Click the stop name to open Waypoint details, then set the Arrival date field for that stop individually.
From the ... menu: Click ... on any stop card and select Edit date to set or change the arrival date for that stop.
Staying at the Same Place for Multiple Nights
Because each stop only has one arrival date, multi-night stays aren't represented automatically. There are two ways to handle this:
Option 1 — Add the place multiple times. Add the same campground as a stop for each day you'll be there. This lets Campendium correctly route your trip from that location each morning if you're using routed waypoints. To do this:
- Click + Add in the itinerary for the date you want to add the stop
- Search for the place by name exactly as it appears in your trip and add it again
- Drag it to the correct position in your itinerary if needed
Option 2 — Use a custom name. Keep the stop as a single waypoint but give it a custom name that includes your planned stay duration — for example, "Beaver Reservoir Dispersed Camping (3 nights)." This keeps your itinerary clean while making the duration visible at a glance. To do this, click the stop name to open Waypoint details and enter your custom name in the Custom name field.
Daily Totals
If dates are applied to your trip, you'll see a daily totals line under each date so that you can easily see how many stops are scheduled, as well as the estimated distance and driving time for that day.
