Customizing Your Route

Campendium calculates the most efficient route between your waypoints by default. If you want to take a different road — avoid a highway, pass through a specific area, or adjust where the route goes without adding a full stop — you can drag the route directly on the map.

This feature requires an RV Pro membership.

Trip planning is available on the Campendium website. Trip planning is not yet available in the mobile app, but you can open Campendium.com in a web browser on your phone to use trip planning features!

How to Drag a Route

  1. Hover your mouse over the route line on the map until a dot or four-pointed arrow appears
  2. Click and drag the route to a new location
  3. Release to drop a via waypoint at that point

Via waypoints appear in your itinerary with a via symbol. They can be rearranged or removed the same way as regular waypoints.

If the via waypoint didn't land in exactly the right spot, click the via pin on the map and drag it to adjust.

What Via Waypoints Are For

Via waypoints shape your route without acting as a full destination stop. They're useful when:

  • You want to take (or avoid) a specific highway — drag the route on or off it
  • You want to travel through a general area without committing to a specific campground or place yet
  • You need a quick route adjustment without adding another named stop to your itinerary

Removing a Via Waypoint

To remove a via waypoint, open the ... menu on the via card in the itinerary and select Remove waypoint. The route recalculates without it.
