You can keep any stop in your trip itinerary without including it in your driving route. The stop stays listed, shows as a pin on the map, and can hold all its details, but it won't affect your directions, total drive time, or distance calculations.
This is useful for:
- Places you're considering but haven't committed to yet
- Day trips or local exploration from a homebase — you want a record of them in the trip but don't want them calculating into your drive
- Reference stops like a dump station or fuel point you might use but haven't decided on
This is a trip planning feature and requires an RV Pro membership.
Trip planning is available on the Campendium website. Trip planning is not yet available in the mobile app, but you can use trip planning on a mobile device by opening www.campendium.com in a web browser.
Excluding a Stop from Your Route
There are two ways to exclude a stop:
From the stop card: Click the eye icon on any stop card in the itinerary. The stop remains in your list and stays visible on the map as a pin, but it's removed from the driving route. The icon changes to an eye with a slash to indicate the stop is excluded.
From the ... menu: Click ... on the stop card and select Exclude from route. Same result.
From Waypoint details: Open waypoint details by clicking the stop name, and check the Exclude from route checkbox.
What Changes When a Stop is Excluded
- The stop stays in your itinerary list in its current position
- It appears on the map as a pin, but not numbered
- It is not connected to the driving route — no directions route through it
- Drive time and distance between the surrounding stops recalculate to skip it
- Trip Overview totals (drive time, distance, estimated cost) reflect the routed stops only
Re-Including a Stop
To add an excluded stop back into the route, click the eye icon again or uncheck Exclude from route in the waypoint details. The route recalculates to include it.
