If a place isn't in the Campendium database — a friend's house, a specific trailhead, a street address — you can still add it to your trip by dropping a pin on the map or searching for the address directly.
This feature requires an RV Pro membership.
Trip planning is available on the Campendium website. Trip planning is not yet available in the mobile app, but you can open Campendium.com in a web browser on your phone to use trip planning features!
Dropping a Pin on the Map
- Right-click anywhere on the map
- A popup appears with the resolved address for that location and a pin icon
- Click + Add to add the pinned location to your active trip as a stop
If you don't have a trip open when you drop the pin, clicking + Add will prompt you to create a new trip with that location as a stop.
Once the stop is added, you can give it a recognizable name in Waypoint details using the Custom name field — useful when the resolved address isn't meaningful on its own.
Adding a Location by Address
If you already know the address of the place you want to add:
Via the search bar:
- Click the search bar at the top of the map
- Type the street address
- Select the matching result from the dropdown
- The location appears on the map — click + Add to Trip to add it as a stop
Via the Add to Trip button:
- Click the Add to Trip button (+ icon) in the left sidebar
- Search for the street address
- Select the result and add it to your trip
Giving a Custom Location a Name
When you add a stop by dropping a pin or entering an address, it will appear in your itinerary using the resolved address. To give it a cleaner, recognizable name:
- Click the stop name in the itinerary to open Waypoint details
- Enter a name in the Custom name field
- The stop will display your custom name throughout the itinerary
