You can use Campendium for navigation on your in-car display with Apple CarPlay. This feature is only available to Campendium PRO members.

If you have the Campendium app on your mobile device and you connect it to a CarPlay enabled vehicle you should see the Campendium icon! Scroll through all of your CarPlay icon options if you don't see it right away.

Starting Navigation from the Campendium App

You can start your CarPlay navigation session directly from the Campendium app or from the screen in your vehicle.

To learn more about launching navigation from a trip you've built on Campendium, see our guide here: RV-Safe Navigation

If your mobile device is currently connected to CarPlay and you begin navigating to a waypoint on your mobile device, you should see that navigation session on your vehicle's screen.

When you initiate navigation from the app on your mobile device you will have the chance to apply routing preferences including Avoidances and RV Safety and choose an alternate route if possible.

Starting Navigation from the CarPlay Screen

If you open Campendium on CarPlay without a navigation session applied, you should notice a map and an indicator representing your vehicle that follows it as it moves.

To begin a navigation session from your car's screen, tap the + icon (search). This icon can also be used to add additional stops to an active navigation session. You can add up to 25 stops to an active navigation session.

You'll have the options to navigate to somewhere nearby, a recently searched place, a saved or favorited place, or a stop on a trip you've built on Campendium.

While in active navigation, you might want to zoom out to see your entire trip's path. To see your entire trip on the map on the CarPlay screen, tap the screen, then tap the squiggle lines at the bottom right of the screen.

If your trip is off center due to dragging or panning, tapping the squiggle line icon will recenter the trip on your screen.

Enable or Mute Voice Directions

You can mute or unmute voice directions on the CarPlay screen. Just tap Mute in the upper left corner of the screen.

If your CarPlay screen is unmuted, but you're still not hearing voice directions, make sure the volume in your Campendium app on your mobile device it turned up!

Update Routing Preferences

You can update basic routing preferences, like avoiding tolls, avoiding highways, or avoiding dirt roads right from your CarPlay screen. Just tap the preferences icon in the upper right of the screen.

RV Safety settings must be applied from the Campendium app, so if you need the route to consider your height, weight, and propane status - launch the trip from your app! More information on how to do this here: RV-Safe Navigation
