How To Share Your Trip

You can share any Campendium trip as a read-only link, or post it directly to social media — no account required for the person viewing it.

Trip planning is available on the Campendium website. Trip planning is not yet available in the mobile app.

Sharing Your Trip

  1. Open your trip in the trip planner
  2. Click the Share icon (upload arrow) in the trip header
  3. Choose how you'd like to share. The options are detailed below.

CAMP Share Icon Web

  • Copy share link — Copies a URL to your clipboard. Paste it anywhere — a message, email, or group chat.
  • Export as GPX — Downloads the trip as a GPX file for use in other navigation apps or GPS devices.
  • Facebook — Opens a Facebook share dialog with a link to the trip.
  • X (Formerly Twitter) — Opens an X share dialog.
  • Pinterest — Opens a Pinterest share dialog.
  • Email — Opens your email client with a pre-filled message containing the trip link.
  • Embed — Generates an embed code to place the trip map on a website or blog.

What Viewers Can See

Anyone with the share link can view your itinerary — the route, stops, distances, and drive times. They cannot edit the trip, add stops, or view waypoint notes. If you have dates applied, they also will not see dates; they'll see "Day 1, 2, etc." instead of specific dates.

For your trip to be viewable by anyone with the link, its privacy setting needs to be Public. If your trip is set to Private, only you and invited collaborators can see it. To change this, go to Trip settings → Trip details → Privacy.

Inviting Someone to Plan Together

Sharing a link gives view-only access. If you want a travel companion to contribute stops and edit the itinerary with you, use collaboration instead. See Trip Collaboration for details.
