How to Leave and Manage Reviews

Reviews are the heart of Campendium. Every rating and written review comes from real campers who've actually stayed at the places they're reviewing — which is what makes them so useful. Here's how to contribute your own and manage what you've posted.

Before You Start

You need to be logged into your Campendium account to leave a review. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one for free.

Leaving a Quick Star Rating

If you want to leave a rating without writing a full review, you can do that from the campground page:

  1. Scroll to the Reviews section
  2. Click or tap a star in the Leave a rating box
  3. Your rating saves immediately
  4. You'll be taken to the full review form — writing a review is optional, but encouraged if you have details to share

Writing a Full Review

For a complete review, click Write a review in the Reviews section, or you'll land here automatically after leaving a star rating. The review form has several sections:

Rating

Your overall star rating for the campground (1–5 stars).

Write a review

A free-text field to share your experience. Before writing your review, consider these guidelines:

  • A review should always include information about the campground or campsite. Quality, cleanliness, accessibility, amenities, and noise levels are all great things to mention.
  • Only review campsites where you’ve stayed recently. If you haven’t visited in more than six months, don't leave a review until you camp in the location again. There is a lot that can change in six months!
  • To ensure the privacy of others, do not post private identifying information (like full names) in your reviews.
  • Be respectful in your choice of words and your tone. Reviews that include divisive, threatening, offensive, or abusive language have no place on Campendium will be removed. Reviews noting disregard of campground rules or regulations will will be removed.
  • Limit your comments to the campground that you’re reviewing. If you also checked out a campsite down the road, go to that location’s page and leave a separate review or note. If we are missing a camping location, please use our ‘Add a campsite’ form to let us know!
  • Do not use reviews as a way to communicate with the Campendium team. You can reach us to update amenities, contact info, operating status, or with suggested changes to a page by emailing info@campendium.com or by using the 'Report problem' link on the page.

Upload Photos (optional)

Add up to 5 photos from your stay. PNG, JPG, or JPEG accepted. Avoid shaky or blurry photos — only post photos of the place itself. Some more photo tips below:

  • Horizontal photos work best on Campendium.
  • Only post photos that are relevant to the camping location.
  • The Campendium community loves to see photos of campsites, your rig in a campsite, and the amenities available at a camping location.

Stay Details (optional but valuable)

These fields help other campers make informed decisions:

Field What to enter
Nightly Rate What you paid per night
Days Stayed How many nights you stayed
Site Number The specific site you were on, if applicable
Would you stay here again? Yes or No

Ratings (optional)

Rate the campground across five specific categories (1–5 stars each):

  • Access — How easy it was to get to and into the campground
  • Location — The setting and surroundings
  • Cleanliness — Condition of facilities and grounds
  • Site Quality — The site itself — space, levelness, shade, privacy
  • Noise — How quiet or loud the campground was

Cell Coverage (optional)

Report what cell service you experienced. Select your coverage level for AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile. Leave blank if you don't know.

Your RV (optional)

Sharing your rig info makes your review more useful to other RVers with similar setups:

  • RV Type — Select your class
  • RV Length (ft) — How long your rig is

Submit

When you're done, click Submit to post your review.

Deleting a Review

There is no way to edit a review once it's been submitted. If you need to make a correction or update, you'll need to delete the original and write a new one.

To delete a review:

  1. Go to your Profile
  2. Find the review you want to remove
  3. Select Delete

When Will My Review Appear?

Reviews go live immediately after you submit them. Campendium's team monitors reviews and will take action on any that don't meet the community guidelines, but there's no waiting period before your review shows up.

Tips for a Great Review

The most helpful reviews are specific and practical. A few things other campers really find useful:

  • Mention your rig size — "We were in a 38ft fifth wheel and had no trouble pulling in" tells big rig owners what they need to know
  • Note the date of your stay — Conditions change seasonally
  • Report the price you paid — The nightly rate field feeds the "Last Reported Price" data on the campground page
  • Rate cell coverage honestly — Even a note that you had no service is helpful

On the Mobile App

Writing and managing reviews is fully available in the mobile app.

From a campground page, tap Write a review to open the review form. The form includes all the same fields: overall rating, written review, nightly rate, days stayed, site number, would you stay again, photo upload, sub-ratings (Access, Location, Cleanliness, Site Quality, Noise), cell coverage by carrier, and your RV details.

To delete a review you've posted, tap the Profile tab and tap Reviews to find it.
